Summer skincare is typically too lightweight for the cooler fall temps. Taylor Daniel helps you transition your skincare routine for fall.

As fall begins, it’s not only our wardrobes that need to be updated, but our skincare routines also require a second look. After all, many of the products we rely on to combat the hot, humid weather of summer won’t be effective for the next seasons. Unsure where to begin? Worry not! Taylor Daniel lends her must-do tips for changing up your skincare, from head to toe.

1. Incorporate a Richer Moisturizer

During the fall, your skin needs more support to retain moisture due to the cooler, drier air. Switch out your lightweight summer moisturizer for a richer formula that provides a protective barrier against the elements. Ingredients like ceramides, shea butter and squalane are excellent for locking in hydration and protecting the skin’s natural barrier.

Taylor’s Tip: [Apply Morgan Taylor BareLuxury Massage Butter moisturizer to slightly damp skin to maximize absorption and hydration.]

2. Introduce a Gentle Exfoliant

Exfoliation is key to removing dead skin cells that can accumulate as the weather changes. However, fall requires a gentler approach than summer to avoid irritation. Swap your aggressive summer exfoliants for a gentler exfoliator containing lactic acid or fruit enzymes that will slough off dead skin without compromising your skin’s moisture levels.

Taylor’s Tip: [Limit exfoliation to one-to-two times per week to avoid over-exfoliating and disrupting your skin barrier.]

3. Add a Hydrating Serum

Boost your skin’s hydration levels by incorporating a hydrating serum into your routine. Serums with hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, and peptides can help attract and retain moisture, keeping your skin plump and smooth. Use it after cleansing and before applying moisturizer to provide an extra layer of hydration.

Taylor’s Tip: [Lock in moisture and protect your skin and nails from environmental damage with a twice-a-day swipe of Gelish Nourish with Hyaluronic Acid.]
